Week 2 – Settling In Canada

First week went fine except we caught our feet in Montreal, what a great city. Lots of fun, met lots of great Quebecois and more than anything, lots of awesome Quebecoise. They seem to be loving the Irish accent and the slang, someone should have told me that before!

Paddy was sick for a couple of days when arriving last week, think it’s all due to the water. I managed to drag him out after two days of intense session on the toilet! First night out was awesome, we’ve hang around with some cool people on St-Laurent Street and did our own pub crawl. Finished the night in the Old Town, called Le Vieux-Montreal, with some nice birds!

The following day, we were invited to visit our friend Richard’s business: MapleSyrupWorld. They make the most amazing maple syrup, never tasted anything that good! We are still spending the week in Quebec province, heading to Ottawa for our next stop.

Start – Week 1

My name is Williams, I’m Irish and I’m going to cross Canada from Montreal to Vancouver with my dear friend Paddy from Limerick, this is my first entry in our journal.

First day of our first week: The trip just started and we are fresh out off the boat.

The trip here was quick and calm but even though we are jet-lagged, we have an appointment at the Clinique du voyageur in South of Montreal. Can’t miss it as they will advice us on what to watch for on our trip and inject us with all kind of goodies.

We managed to order some vitamins online back home and get them delivered straight to our hotel last week, hopefully they’ll be waiting for us. Going to keep us healthy through our trip, we’ll that’s what we think. Better to put all the chances behind us!

Paddy is taking his time at the toilet, he might have got the runs already, oh gosh.
